Assessment is by coursework. Assignments are internally assessed by the approved centre and externally verified by OTHM. The qualification is graded Pass or Fail.

Entry requirements

Applicants should normally hold a relevant Level 3 qualification, two A levels or an equivalent qualification. Mature applicants aged 21 or over may be considered on the basis of relevant management experience, subject to the approved admissions process.

Learners are normally aged 18 or over at the start of the programme and must demonstrate sufficient English-language ability for study and assessment at Level 4.

Progression and career relevance

Successful learners can progress to the OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Business Management or another appropriate Level 5 programme. Some universities may consider the qualification for advanced entry, but any admission or credit decision is made solely by the receiving university.

The course also develops skills relevant to junior supervisory, operational and business-support roles. Job titles and entry requirements vary by employer.

Award

Learners who successfully complete all six units receive the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Business Management, an Ofqual-regulated qualification awarded by OTHM Qualifications.

Important information

Level 4 indicates the qualification’s difficulty. It does not make the diploma a university degree or guarantee entry to the second year of a degree. Learners should obtain written confirmation from any receiving institution before relying on advanced-entry claims.
